Introducing Spencer West, Application Engineer at BBP.
Meet Spencer West, one of BBP’s talented Application Engineers, based in Baton Rouge, LA. Originally from Bunkie, Louisiana, Spencer brings three years of experience in the industry to our team, with a passion for solving complex challenges and delivering solutions that meet our customers’ needs.
Spencer thrives in his role because of the dynamic nature of his work. He loves the opportunity to solve problems and fulfill customer needs with the full support of his colleagues. It’s this collaboration and shared drive that make each day rewarding. Reflecting on his experience at BBP, Spencer says, “BBP’s commitment to providing solutions for all customer needs is what makes me most proud to work here.”
Family is a cornerstone of Spencer’s life. He and his wife live in Baton Rouge with their two children, eagerly awaiting the arrival of a third child on the way.
Outside of work, Spencer is a passionate musician, often playing at church services, weddings, and special events. His love for music is deeply tied to his life philosophy. His theme song, “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” by Bobby McFerrin, perfectly captures his laid-back yet resilient mindset. He finds inspiration in the quote: “I’m in the future also” by comedian Mike Birbiglia, and his personal mantra is simple yet profound: “It is what it is.”
For prospective BBP employees, Spencer has valuable advice: “Always look to improve—yourself and anything else you can.” He believes BBP offers a supportive, motivated, and committed environment where you can grow personally and professionally.
When asked which four people he’d invite to dinner, Spencer immediately named his grandparents, his wife, and his mom—a gathering that would surely be filled with laughter, stories, and love.
Spencer’s diverse taste in music—spanning classic rock, pop, Christian, folk, and anything catchy with strong, clear vocals—is another reflection of his adaptable, creative nature. Whether solving customer challenges or inspiring those around him with music and kindness, Spencer exemplifies the qualities that make BBP a leader in innovation and service.
