Introducing George Rogers, the dynamic leader of our Sensors Team at BBP.
Meet George Rogers, our Sensors Team Leader. George brings 13 years of industry experience and an unwavering commitment to solving complex problems for our customers. His role challenges him to find innovative solutions within tight timeframes, ensuring that no two days are ever the same. George calls Baton Rouge, Louisiana, home, though he hails from San Fernando, Trinidad & Tobago. At home, he is a devoted husband and father to two children—a 9-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son.
In his role, George thrives on the variety and complexity of his work. He enjoys tackling unique challenges daily and delivering swift resolutions for BBP’s customers. George is most proud to work at BBP because of the company’s dedication to continuous improvement. He appreciates being part of a team that invests in resources to enhance performance, fostering a culture of striving to be better every day.
George describes BBP with three words: ever-evolving, esprit de corps, and empowerment. For him, these qualities reflect the company’s forward-thinking approach and its commitment to teamwork and employee growth. He also values BBP’s emphasis on innovation and collaboration, which inspires him to excel in his role.
Here’s something you might not know about George: he listens to Army Marching Cadence while working. He finds it helps him stay focused and maintain a steady pace. George’s favorite quote is by Kurt Vonnegut from Cat’s Cradle: “Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before.” This quote, along with his personal mantra, “GOOD,” reflects his dedication to lifelong learning and improvement.
If George could do it all over again, he would spend more time traveling the world. For his dream dinner party, George would invite Jon Stewart, Robert F. Kennedy, his father, and Larry David—a group sure to spark fascinating conversations. If his life had a theme song, it would be “Count Me Out” by Kendrick Lamar, a fitting anthem for his determined and forward-thinking mindset. George’s diverse taste in music spans R&B, rap, pop, and jazz.
For prospective BBP employees, George offers this advice: “It’s perfectly acceptable not to have an answer right away. A key part of your role is to maintain a mindset of continuous learning about the product lines and the roles they play in your customers’ processes. Make it a priority to be the one who actively seeks out answers, not only for yourself but also for your customers.”
